Homemade Vegan Protein Powder Mix

Homemade Vegan Protein Powder Mix

I’ve been keeping an eye out for a truly good vegan protein powder at the grocery store – one with clean ingredients, a pleasant taste, and a texture that blends beautifully. While there are excellent options available, they often come with a rather lofty price tag. As a long-time vegetarian (and moving steadily toward vegan), I’m mindful about what I bring into my kitchen. Quality matters – especially when it comes to everyday staples and supplements.

So I decided to make my own.

And to my surprise, this homemade vegan protein powder turned out wonderfully. It’s made from simple pantry ingredients – nuts and seeds you likely already have on handand, it slips easily into your routine. Stir it into smoothies, overnight oats, chia pudding, or blend it into a classic protein shake for a nourishing boost.

Best of all, you can customize the mix to suit your taste and needs – more nutty, more seedy, slightly sweeter, or more neutral. Once blended, you can sift it through for a finer mix. I store the mixture in a glass jar with a tight-fitting lid and keep it in the refrigerator. It stays fresh for quite some time, and having a batch ready to go makes healthy mornings feel effortless.

This recipe yields about 44 servings, depending on how you scoop. My go-to portion is 2 tablespoons, sprinkled into yogurt, folded into overnight oats, or added to a smoothie for a wholesome, plant-based lift.

Important note: This recipe contains nuts and seeds and is not suitable for anyone with nut allergies or sensitivities to any of the ingredients used.
